14. In which process (mitosis, meiosis,or both) does crossing-over occur?

Metaphase I - Meiosis Metaphase - Mitosis

The answer can be seen in the illustrations above. You can see the chromatids of each homolog arranged side by side. This allows them to cross over from one homolog to the other. In Mitosis, all the chromatids are independently arrange, they are not next to each, no crossing over will occur.
