8. In general, what is the relationship between temperature and the rate of substrate breakdown?

Directly proportional up to a point. Note above as the temperature gets above 40^o the protein breaks down. Before that point the temperature increases the movement of all molecules. The frequency of substrate contacts with enzymes will increase. This will increase the rate of substrate breakdown.
