Computer Settings for the Successful Completion of Course Activities
ALERT: Known Browser Behaviors & Upcoming Canvas Changes
- New Canvas functionality and performance updates may be enabled at any time causing changes to the Canvas interface and your user experience.
- In my experience, the best solution to these unforeseen changes in Canvas is to use Firefox as your browser. It is best to complete all course activities in our course from a reliable desk top or laptop computer of your choice using Firefox as your browser.
- The Canvas interface was optimized for desktop displays so using small form factors such as phones may not be a pleasant experience in using Canvas. For example:
- hyperlinks embedded in PDFs in our course activities may not display on mobile media devices, and
- tutorials and videos displayed on mobile media devices can show low quality.
- mobile media devices (such as Iphones, Ipad, Androids, etc.) are not considered computers by Canvas and may not produce a pleasant experience in using Canvas.
- Like all Canvas features, contrary behaviors relating to browsers are prioritized, and some behaviors in the previous version may not be resolved.
- If a behavior exists in the previous version of the browser that does not exist in the current version, the best solution is to update to the newest browser version.
