Lecture Extra Credit
Remember that you can do only two extra credits.
Lecture extra opportunities involve attending a first-person lecture by an expert on some phase of biology. Any topic covered by the course content would be appropriate. The following links are to institutions that offer lectures. Some are free and others my charge a fee. You are asked to submit a report on that lecture consisting of at least two typed pages (double spaced). The reports are worth fifteen (15) points apiece. You may do two reports for a total of 30 points.
- Scripps Institute of Oceanography - located on the lower campus of UCSD
- San Diego Natural History Museum - (Click on Lectures and films) located in Balboa Park, some are free, some cost.
- Birch Aquarium - located on the lower campus of UCSD, check the website for interesting lectures.
- San Diego Field Ornithologists
Meetings are at 6 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
