Laboratory Extra Credits
Remeber you can do only two Extra Credits.
Laboratory extra credit involves, doing something, such as taking field trip and gaining knowledge through actual experience. Watching a film or a nature show does not qualify.
- Marine Mammals at Sea World - you would have to gain entrance to Sea world. (Sea otters, seals, sea lions and whales)
- Marine Birds at Sea World - (Alcids, puffins and Penguins)
- Living Coast Discovery Center - The Nature Center is located in south San Diego bay. Map
- Torrey Pines State Park - Directions to Torrey pines state park.
- Mission Trails Regional Park - located between the communities of San Diego and Santee, it is one of the largest urban parks. Directions to Mission Trails Park from Mesa College.
- Tijuana River Valley Regional Park - one of my favorite places to visit, it is located down near the border. The grounds are open every day, from dawn to dusk.
- Steven Birch Aquarium - located on the lower campus of UCSD, this is a world famous collection of native marine fishes. You buy the tickets online, note that the student price changes according to the month that you go. You enter with your ticket through the main gate. You must have your student I.D.
- Alternate Scripps Aquarium Worksheet. - located on the lower campus of UCSD this is a world famous collection of native marine fishes. You buy the tickets online, note that the student price changes according to the month that you go. You enter with your ticket through the main gate. You must have your student I.D.
- San Diego Audubon Society - this group offers many trips throughout the year, they are guided and free. This would involve you making extensive notes along the line of a log. You would have to show how you benefited from this trip. Consult the page link to above for more information.
