Golgi bodies serve as a molecular warehouse and processing station for the products of the Endoplasmic Reticulum. There is a upside receiving side for products of the E. R. Once received the Golgi body processes the products, sometimes removing or substituting these products for other ones. The downside of the Golgi body packages these products for transport out of the cell.
