11. How are the various classes of the Protozoa classified?

The classification is based upon the method of locomotion they have: i.e. flagellates, ciliates, etc.

protozoa

A. Ciliate (Paramecium) covered completely in tiny hair-like structures that beat against the surround water pushing the protozoa forward.

B. Pseudopods (Amoeba) Small extensions of the cell that flow out from the creature's body and the cellular contents flow into those extensions.

C. Flagella (Gymnodinium) one or two hair-like structure (about 100-200 times the size of a cilium) that propel the cell through the water.
