14. What cells distinguish the Tracheophytes from the Bryophytes?
Bryophytes are nonvacular plants such as liverworts and mosses. Tracheophytes are the higher plants from Ferns to flowering plants. So it is the vascular cells; i.e. phloem and xylem. The Bryophytes lack the vascular cells, and because of that they are small in size. The process of diffusion is the only way for the Bryophytes to transport water and nutrients through their body.
