22. What is the difference between a sigmoid growth curve and a "j” shaped growth curve?
A "J" shaped growth curve lacks the stationary growth. These are generally small animals with quick life cycles and poor mobility such as aphids. The aphids build up populations quickly and when the food source is gone, most die off as quickly. The few survivors start the next generation and proliferate until the next "crash".
