42. What is Liebig's Law of the Minimum?
Liebig's Law of Minimum states that organisms require all things in at least minimum quantities in order to survive. You could make a list of the ingredients required by plants, such a water, nitrogen, phosphate, calcium, boron, etc. Some of these materials are needed in large amounts the others are needed in minute amounts. If something is missing, even though it is required in tiny amounts, that ingredient could prevent the plant from being successful. See image above for Liebig's Barrel.
