12. What is the difference between a trait which is allelic and one that is nonallelic?
Allelic traits are genes located on homologous chromosomes, nonallelic traits on located on different chromosomes (non homologous). The word "allele" is very specific in its meaning. Otherwise it would just be referred to as a "gene".
