44. Relate the role of repressor, regulator, promoter, operator, and operon to gene action.

The Promoter - Attachment site for transcription to occur

The Regulator - produces the Repressor protein which would stop transcription.

The Operator serves as switch for the promoter for the mRNA to land on and begin building the enzyme.

The Repressor's protein role is either to bind with the inducer or the operator and promoter.

The Inducer is the substance which needs to worked on and will bind with the Repressor allowing transcription.

The Operon is the set of structural genes which when transcribed will break down the inducer and stop transcription.
