49. What was Weismann contribution to the understanding of evolution?

Weismann Weismann disproved the Lamark theory of "Acquired Characters". He cut the tails off of mice and bred then together, and each time the offspring had tails. This has proven to be a fabrication of the truth. Weismann did indeed do the experiment, but Lamark would have nothing to do with the mutilation experiment and never suggested that if it were done, the cut tails would be inherited.
