62. Does the operon theory of DNA structure work for both prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms?
The answer is no.
The operon theory works only for bacteria. The codes are together in an organized way. The controls are simple to turn the codes off and on.
The codes for eukaryotic organisms are scattered along the length to the DNA strand. These strands contain complex protein "controls" that enable the mRNA to read the codes even though they may be distant from each other. This requires DNA to fold over bringing the codes within the reach of the mRNA. This is not how an operon is structured.
